So, my youngest is a great big hoot and constantly causes laughter and fun in our home. We are very blessed with his good humor and RIDICULOUSLY HUGE imagination, however he is also very sensitive and has a bit of a hard time "knowing" what is truth or fiction when it comes to his feelings. I tell him often, "Just because somethings make you feel a certain way does NOT mean it is so."
As a mom I am constantly thinking up (non-effective) ways to help him in this area, but just recently we have come up with, "Fact or Feeling?" After Kaelon has gotten in trouble or redirected or hurt feelings of some sort, I ask him this question repeatedly in such a way as this ... "Dad stops loving you when you do something wrong, fact or feeling?" He of course thinks for a bit then answers..."Feeling." I than ask him, "Dad will always love you no matter what, fact or feeling?" He answers, "Fact" and so on and so forth.
We mama's tend to stress about things like this and I was defiantly loosing sleep over this one. I truly believe that God has given me this fantastically effective idea and just wanted to share how excited I am about it...WooHoo!
